BREAKING THE CIRCLE OF BROKENNESS

“I’ve been carrying the burden of my family, I’ve misrepresented you; I’ve been so down lately--it seems my happiness is not in you anymore.”

These past three months have been a challenge for sure! I’ve shared a bit on social media and with my church family but after giving it a thought I want to share some of the things I’ve undergone and how I myself got out of the circle of brokenness with the only hope to encourage you, reaffirm you and ground you in whose you are...because you know I am passionate about Identity.

How many times have you felt broken and have adopted or carried that word in every area of your life?

How many of you know that you are a broken vessel and that Jesus came for the broken (Isaiah 45:9)

Being a broken vessel in his hands means that He gets to build you the way he wants! But is a whole another story when you lead yourself from a place of brokenness, and you let it rule you and impose all negative traits.

Can you relate?

In one of my worst top 5 seasons of my life, I thought God was done with me here in the U.S and I remember feeling lost and God asking me “Who are you?”

-” I am a vessel… I am a broken vessel.” I remember  hearing, “ It’s in your brokenness that I am glorified.”

That conversation with God came to mind when I was prepping for this topic and made me realize in the bubble of negativity and sadness I was living in: I felt heartbroken and lost again--seeing so many things happening in my family back home in Venezuela while I am here unable to help the way I want. This caused me to be emotionally anxious and distressed.

So, here is what I was feeling vs what the word of God was filling:

I felt hopeless: “For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.” Jeremiah‬ ‭29:11‬ ‭NLT‬‬

I felt helpless: “With every bone in my body, I will praise him: “ Lord, who can compare with you? Who else rescues the helpless from the strong? Who else protects the helpless and poor from those who rob them?” Psalms‬ ‭35:10‬ ‭NLT‬‬

I felt worried: “Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.” Philippians‬ ‭4:6‬ ‭NLT‬‬

I felt angry: “Human anger does not produce the righteousness God desires.” James‬ ‭1:20‬ ‭NLT‬‬

I felt broken: “The sacrifice you desire is a broken spirit. You will not reject a broken and repentant heart, O God.” ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭51:17‬ ‭NLT‬‬

And here are the 5 P.S.C.A AKA Practical Truths & Call to Action to break the circle of brokenness

as previously shared in last week’s LIVE IG

1 LET IT GO

Cast your cares on the LORD and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken. Psalm 55:20

You have to accept that whatever the circumstances God is in ABSOLUTE control and you are not [I know... Bummer]

2 SHOW YOUR WOUNDS

Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn (Romans 12:15)

Here is advice I took from Mamma Lisa Bevere: you don’t have to share your burdens with everyone --find those people that can actually help you in the matter, that can bring wisdom to the table and point you towards Jesus.

3 KEEP THE CORE PLUGGED IN

"I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me, you can do nothing. (John 15:5)

Relationships thrive when they keep the connection, so keep your connection with God at all times--even when you don’t feel it--do it! He knows how you feel and he values so much your honesty

4 EVEN WHEN YOU DON’T FEEL IT, WORK IT!

God honors consistency. Keep believing. Not that he will do the miracle but that the one who is able to do it already did it.

5 DECLARE HIS TRUTH NOT YOURS

we come closer to God and approach him with an open heart, fully convinced by faith that nothing will keep us at a distance from him. For our hearts have been sprinkled with blood to remove impurity and we have been freed from an accusing conscience and now we are clean, unstained, and presentable to God inside and out (Hebrews 10:22)
