“So trust in the Lord, all his people. For he is the only true hero, the wrap-around God who is our shield!”  (Psalm 115:9)

We all go living our Christian lives through seasons. It is common, of course, since the Bible gives us a reference in Ecclesiastes 3:1-22 that there is a time and a season for everything. However, like roller coasters, we have highs and lows on the road, but God’s intentions for us is not to be drawn by the waves but to be steady with Him in the ups and downs.

“Emunah” in Him

It is not a coincidence that one of the Hebrew translations for the word ‘steady’ is fidelity. You see, in exchange for our redemption, God’s proof of fidelity towards humanity was the crucifixion of His son Jesus. He didn’t need to prove anything to us, yet He chose to show his love-unconditionally-because that’s who He is! I am sure you have experienced the fidelity of God many times. To show Him some fidelity back is the least that we can do...don’t you think?

He Called us His Sons and Daughters

There is no prerequisite nor training to be a son of God; It is not a club membership, nor a Willy Wonka golden ticket. This ‘title’ can’t be purchased nor transferred. Yet, it is the only name that matters to Him, and the only one we are given the responsibility to defend, steward and hold for His Kingdom. (Ephesians 6)

In Christine Caine words at Propel Activate Conference Mississippi, 2018, she emphasized that we were created to be weapons of heaven. [I visualized myself having super powers and breaking hell] These words did something to my heart--I could no longer stay where I was living in my spiritual journey--I developed a craving for more of Him in me.

You Are a Weapon of Heaven

I got tired of throwing pity parties at me and allowing imaginary fears to rock me. [Yep...I am human too] But as some people say, “pain can be a great teacher” or as I like to put it, “you don’t learn it until it happens to you.”

You learn from mistakes, from hardship, from opposition, from rejection, from relationships...etc. I can go on and on with this topic, naming the many experiences and people I’ve learned from and surely you can, too. My point is that God is inviting us to be persistent and not quitting! [Ladies, let your inner wonder woman out now] But for real, I know by experience the more you want God to come in the more terrified the devil gets, and that’s when crazy happens.

From someone who has wanted to give up soooo many times I tell you this, Jesus is the sole reason I still put a fight and defend my position: because He called me by name I choose to stand up! He called you, too! So sister, stand up at this moment and take ownership of WHO you are. (1 Peter 2:9) No matter the season, the place, nor the people you are faced with, God’s fidelity is with you.

Prayer of The Week

Father God, I thank you because you pursue me endlessly and your fidelity is eternal like your kingdom. Reveal your power and your word, I want to be used, fully, for your kingdom. We pray this in Jesus’s name, Amen.
